Karl Sackl - Astrometeorologist

"The topic of astrometeorology embraces in a very apparent way the above and below in the interaction of cosmos and earth. We can watch the results at a wider scale, without any prejudices, as it might happen towards a human being.

At the first glimpse, astrometeorology seems pretty simple as it refers only to some parameters like: Temperature, wind and precipitation basically. But intensity, time and the right location are the challenges in a diverse landscape.

In the early 1970 I had my first encounters with astrology. Never did I imagine in those days that I would work in fields with such a strong contact to space and stars as physical bodies. Born 1947 in Graz, Austria, Europe I completed my studies in business administration. Later, I travelled to Spain, France and England to get acquainted with the language and culture of the countries respectively. My professional life comprised the branches of programming and controlling, a usable base for analysis and reckoning.

Surfing the word wide web in spring of the year 2001 on astrological catchwords I came across the homepage of Carolyn Egan, Astrometeorologist in the USA. It was one of those lucky "accidents" with long-running effects. Her work opened my mind from the thin chart-paper to the deepness of the cosmos. Not mere symbolism but real celestial bodies whose interaction intervenes in earthly meteorology.

In 2002 my attempt on astrometeorology in the German language was finished. It was a graduation-work in the context of an astrological formation. A publisher edited a version of my first book and it currently for sale here:

I am now speculating on different sectors of meteorological phenomenon. Some keywords illustrate the areas:

· The backgrounds of chronological triggers of weather
· The localization of a meteorological appearance
· Do we need historical references for forecasts?
The difference between tropical and sidereal zodiac
· Charts with or without parallax (especially regarding to moon and the axes)
· Declinations and planetary nodes.
· A grouping of the solar system, fixed stars, the galactic center in the sense of distance)

This is a selection of meteorological and astronomical approaches to get more distinctness in understanding. Nevertheless I keep in mind that the basic drive for earth stems from our sun. Mr. Theodore Landscheidt (1927 - 2004) worked intensely on the solar cycles and the importance of the center of mass of the solar system for long-range forecasts.

Furthermore we should also focus on meteorological, visible indications to sharpen our senses. That means we have to watch closely things like rainbows, northern lights or animals for short or long term forecasts. As weather reflects terrestrial patterns in a wide range."
