The 2010 hurricane report is free this season and it is no joke to have food on hand when a hurricane threatens. In New England, the great storm of 1938 caught everyone short and there was a tremendous loss of life and discomfort for months on end. With so many years since that storm, the fear and panic continues to resonate with every major storm threat, no matter what season.

This season's report is written in English along with astrological language so that the general public, the astrologers and the astrometeorologists can follow along as the sensational influences unfold.

The 2010 summer weather is a season that defies the laws of nature as we know them! The planets have lined up to combine and propel their energies to insure that we all know exactly who or what is in charge and it is not us. In order to have a more accurate and complete report, it would take a panel of astrometeorologists some time to come to their conclusions. This single writer will present the information as best I can for the weeks from June 21 to September 21, 2010.

HURRICANE SOUP INGREDIENTS

Wind - The combination or aspects of planets for this summer season has been recorded in past times. The results produce gale force winds and extreme sunspot activity. Satellite and radio transmissions are disrupted. Expect the same this summer.

At the Florida S. Atlantic Chapter, NCGR weather workshop we explored the Florida summer ingress chart and the first two weeks in September. The wind component was very, very strong.

Water - Winds pushing water onto shore is an issue while the moisture component wasn't as strong as in past years. The fall observations may be different.

Stormy influences - Incredible combinations of background turmoil are the Pluto square Uranus, Saturn square Pluto, Saturn opposite Uranus, Jupiter Uranus conjunction, Mercury stationed in Virgo - blustery winds. Jupiter square Pluto. August SuperMoon. There are more, but I'm sure you see what we are up against.

Disclaimer: The central location for the charts (the models) is Miami, Florida. With additional software programs the area of storm possibilities is broadened. Meteorologists do not have these models. The forecast is not one to panic anyone, but to convey awareness to those who want to be prepared. This is not a season to have any hesitation in preparedness.

RESULTS IN RED

Saturday June 19 - 25, 2010 Quarter Moon

Florida - A tempest of winds. Gulf Coast - Flooding or hurricane. Puerto Rico and nearby islands - Hot, strong winds and heavy rain. Convection or heavy rain in the Cape Verde Islands.

RESULTS:

June 30 - Hurricane Alex cat 2 (at landfall) in MX with outer bands flooding in TX over to MS.

Sunday July 4 - 10, 2010 Quarter Moon

Florida should have a pleasant week. Rain, showers in the Gulf and along the Gulf Coast. Venus is perfecting an opposition to Neptune, both tropical in nature. The water event launches and perfects July 8, a contra-parallel forms on July 11 and a tropical system is formed when the Sun and Mercury are at north maximum declination and the Moon achieves an out of bounds turning point. Turmoil in the atmosphere should result in a tropical storm in the Caribbean and Gulf. The Gulf coastline is in the spyglass this week. The Gulf is loaded with tropical moisture. Neptune and Venus are streaming from Florida to Texas.

Venus and Neptune also represent oil

Well offshore in the Atlantic, the malefic planets Saturn, Uranus and Pluto are stirring up the waters resulting in a named storm. Tropical planet energy, moisture is visible but there is too much distance between the systems.

RESULTS:
July 5, 2010 - an area of possible convection south of Yucatan that could go into the Gulf (WChannel).
July 8, 2010 - TD #2 in the Caribbean and Gulf per NWthr Service.

Sunday July 11-17 2010 New Moon - Solar Eclipse 10 deg Cancer, Perigee July 13

The tropical moisture of Neptune and Venus is found at the Islands, Dominican and Puerto Rico. The rain clouds could move west to Cuba and the Bahamas and track their loaded clouds into the Gulf. Windy storms at the western Gulf along the Texas coast could combine and agitate the wet system into a full brown hurricane.

RESULTS:
July 13, 2010 Heavy rain and winds at the above islands and moving to Cuba. Windy tropical T-storms in western Caribbean.
July 17, 2010 Heavy rain and winds in Texas

Sunday July 18 - 24, 2010 Quarter Moon

Slightly cooler temps in Florida but the western Gulf is dreadfully hot. Severe T storms along the central Gulf Coast, inching on to the Florida panhandle. The benefits of Jupiter are aiding in the fine weather in the eastern Gulf Coast. Disturbed atmosphere at the islands, Dominican and Puerto Rico, could flare up into a named storm.

RESULTS:
July 19, 2010 below avg temps
July 21, 2010 - A tropical wave over PRico and islands could develop and move to S. Florida & Gulf. (WCh) (Bonnie)
July 22, 2010 - TS Bonnie at the islands and heading for south Florida in the overnight and projected to drop mega moisture on TX or Gulf Coast.
July 24, 2010 - NWS reports the center of the remnant low associated with former TD bonnie was located at mouth of MS River and S. Louisiana. The low is moving toward the west-northwest near 14 mph...22 km/hr and it should continue to move on this general track tonight and Sunday.

Sunday July 25 - Aug 2, 2010 Full Moon

Florida has a Neptune Mercury opposition across the horizon right to the degree of Florida's natal Neptune. Strong winds are intensified with Mars conjoining the ruler (Saturn) of the ascendant (horizon). A full blown hurricane with extremely strong winds will take another name from the list. Transiting Moon applies to transiting Neptune as well.

RESULTS:
Aug. 1, 2010 - The July calendar for Florida shows ½ inch of precipitation every day in July. In May and June, precipitation was below averages.
August 2, 2010 July humidity is constant and high. A new storm is just past the Cape Verdes and could be named today. From NWS - Location...12.6n 41.1w about 1365 mi...2200 km e of the Lesser Antilles
maximum sustained winds...35 mph...55 km/hr
present movement...wnw or 290 degrees at 17 mph...28 km/hr
minimum central pressure...1006 mb...29.71 inches.
Just overnight, we have a named storm 'Colin'.

Tuesday August 3 - 8, 2010 Quarter Moon

Hot and humid in Florida. Tropical downpours early this week, also at the end.

Heavy rains in Louisiana. Convection should take place at the Cape Verde Islands, just off the coast of Africa. The system will track across the Atlantic.

A cyclone in the Pacific may track to Baja.

RESULTS:
August 8, 2010 TS Estelle forms off coast of MX but heads out to sea. TS Colin hits Bermuda with squallish weather. A system from Cape Verde Islands is going to develop as it travels west. NWService warns of a flood watch until Aug 9. In Florida mostly 90+ temps and high humidity.
Aug 9th heavy rain in Louisiana.

Monday August 9 - 15, 2010 New Moon - SuperMoon Aug 10 Perigee Aug 10

Turbulent skies over the western gulf are sure to brew a strong hurricane soup. In Florida, the indications are for rain and wind with squallish type weather. A deluge is possible in southern California. Strong breezes may accompany.

RESULTS:
August 9, 2010 - Heavy rain is falling in Florida, a result of the Neptune conjunct natal Mercury of Florida's state chart and the flood watch is still in effect. The WChannel is displaying the serious rain event over Florida and watching it develop. Will it cross over the Gulf and produce the forecasted storm? A strong system has come off the African coast. The rain event turned into TD #5 and has been dropping heavy rain over the Gulf, into Louisiana, back to the Gulf and as of today, August 18th, the report from the Weather Channel is as follows: Several features combine to produce scattered showers and thunderstorms from southern Texas to the Carolinas and Florida. The features include an east-west stationary boundary over North Carolina and Tennessee, the remnants of Tropical Depression 5 in the lower Mississippi Valley and a humid and tropical air mass covering the Southeast and Florida.

Monday August 16 - 23, 2010 Quarter Moon

Tropical rain gathers at the Yucatan and has the possibility of traveling through the Gulf over to Florida. There are indications of high pressure in the Atlantic preventing or blocking - a significant weather problem I think.

RESULTS:
August 18, 2010 - From Stormpulse.com - Cloudiness and showers over the west central Caribbean are associated with a tropical wave moving westward at 15 mph.
August 19, 2010 - remnants of TD #5 continue to dump rain in Louisiana.
August 21, 2010 - A system in the eastern Atlantic has strong potential to develop and move west towards land.
August 22, 2010 - TD#6 has formed in central Atlantic.
August 23, 2010 - Tstorm Danielle is gaining strength.

Tuesday August 24 - 31, 2010 Full Moon

At the Florida workshop in May we discussed the natal chart of Florida and that transiting Neptune would be conjoining the natal Mercury. The aspect would produce nebulous winds, winds that wander and can't seem to find a good direction. However, another way to look at it is that tropical winds may be blowing. Natal Mercury has rulership on the natal Gemini ascendant and the 5th house of tourism.

This is the week that Neptune is on the 4th house cusp. The very wet Moon in Pisces is also in the 4th house. There is no doubt that water is an important part of this week's weather. An unsettled atmosphere is aiding to the heavy rain event. The wind chart has strong aspects for a horrific wind. Miami, the Bahamas and Cuba are all under an alert for a tropical storm or hurricane.

RESULTS:
August 23, 2010 Hurricane Danielle is named.
August 24, 2010 heavy rain and wind in Florida.
August 29, 2010 WChannel reporting that HDanielle is out of the USA zone. TS Earl, just about to get to Cat 1 stage is approaching the islands.
August 31, 2010 Hurricane Earl Cat 4 is pounding the islands; is forecast to scrape by the whole of the east coast. TS Fiona is on the tail of Earl. 30 day rain totals in Florida add up to almost 9 inches.

Wednesday September 1 - 7, 2010 Quarter Moon

Neptune, most often the planet that indicates moisture and during hurricane season is present through the center of the Gulf. The wettest indicator is the Moon and she has positioned herself in a 90 degree angle to the 4th house cusp of the lunar phase chart. The square aspect is harsh and produces abnormal conditions. Mercury, the carrier of the winds is found alongside the Sun at Miami/Bahamas. Venus, the second wettest indicator applies to a 120 degrees aspect, a trine, to Neptune. The high pressure indicators, Uranus and Jupiter are found further into the 4th house and would provide high pressure. Saturn - the low pressure indicator is sextile to the horizon, a weaker position.

A hurricane will be churned up and the wind damage will be severe. Because the low pressure system is not very strong, the high pressure will hopefully block some of the action.

RESULTS:
September 1, 2010 - Earl is the churned up hurricane but the winds did not affect Florida and the storm is headed NNW. Projected path by WChannel is for NC and New England. However, the storm came close to the Bahamas before heading more north.
September 3, 2010 Fiona is a tropical storm in the Atlantic. The local forecast for New England is for scattered T storms (from H. Earl) during a pleasant week of weather. Also accurate.
Earl weakened to a Cat 1, then tropical storm as he passed by New England bringing rain and winds equal to my local forecast. Scattered T-storms and higher than average winds. The TV mets did say that a super high pressure system was in place that directed Earl along its edge, but Earl was pushed eastward with the (Saturn based) front coming in from the west.
September 6, 2010 - TS Hermione sprouted in the Gulf and moved on shore very fast at MX, then heavy rain through Midwest from the storm.

Wednesday September 8 - 14, 2010 New Moon - Perigee SuperMoon Sept 8

Sagittarius is the sign on the 4th cusp for this new Moon and would normally bring fine weather and there will be pleasant weather during the period.

The winds will be extremely strong this period in the Miami and general Florida area. Mercury, the windy planet is not moving as it is about to station to go direct. The Sun and Moon are in the first house in the blustery sign of Virgo and the Moon is applying to join Saturn. To add more wind to the area, Mercury is in square aspect to the 4th house cusp - location - Miami. All the ingredients are in place for a tropical storm to brew into a hurricane force with the strong wind activity.

RESULTS:
September 11, 2010 - Typical warm to hot and pleasant weather with T-storms in Florida. TS Igor is brewing in the Atlantic with capability to become a hurricane.
September 13, 2010 - Tropical system affecting near Cuba. Julia, in the Atlantic is a named storm. Karl is a named storm headed for Yucatan and the western Gulf.

Wednesday, September 15 - 22, 2010 quarter Moon

The high pressure planets, Uranus and Jupiter, are covering Florida, Saturn; low pressure is seen at the Bahamas through Cuba and the islands. Very hot weather, possibly brutal, centers at the Gulf. The Moon is applying to Pluto and whacks a square to the Jupiter Uranus combination stressing the winds from blustery to gale force. The Low pressure Saturn is very close to Florida and brings its energy up the coast to the Carolinas. Many times, the storms from the southern regions can carry up through the coast.

RESULTS:
September 16, 2010 - Hurricane Igor, a large storm will advance onto Bermuda. The east coast will once again be subject to rip currents.
September 19, 2010 - Hur. Igor downgraded to a Cat 1 storm but still a large storm that will take 2 days to pass over Bermuda. Large ocean swells in effect from Florida to the northeast.

As always, be prepared; know what is happening during this remarkable season. Remember, when the TV mets can see it on radar, they will give you good positioning.

Best wishes everyone and thank you South Atlantic Chapter NCGR at Florida.

SEASONAL CHANGE - FALL, 2010

The 2010 hurricane report is free this season. The results are in and the forecast for the next several weeks through October are again with my compliments. The forecast is from the location of Miami, Florida. While the astrometeorologist can see stormy weather, hurricanes are difficult to pinpoint in intensity or actual landfall. The techniques do allow for a long range storm forecast.

The Libra ingress chart of the Sun for Miami indicates more wind than average. Perhaps a warm start to the season but short-lived then cool down. There is a flooding indication in the model and additional information that precipitation may be abundant and the possibility of record setting amounts. Transiting Neptune, within orb, is still a threat to the State of Florida natal chart.

FORECAST Wednesday, September 23 - 29, 2010 Full Moon

Southern Florida is under the influence of high pressure which can ramp up the temperatures. However, Mercury is influential this week and will insert a cooler and more windy scenario. Hurricanes are not on Florida's horizon this period.

RESULTS: Look for a tropical event located well into the Atlantic.

FORECAST Thursday September 30 - October 6, 2010 Quarter Moon

A crisis Moon phase brings more weather to southern Florida. Very windy with Virgo on the 4th and Mercury in the 4th house. In Miami, Mercury rules the 1st house and the Moon is found in the first house. Later in this period, Saturn and Sun are together indicates difficult weather, a lack of sunshine so vital to Florida. High pressure may prevail and save the day. There will be rain, there will be wind and it will be a mixed week of weather.
The wind field may be strongest over Haiti/Dominica/PRico. A tropical wave is seen in the eastern Atlantic.

RESULTS:

FORECAST Thursday October 7 - 13, 2010 New Moon **SuperMoon and *Perigee Oct 6

Turbulent and stormy weather are strong with plenty of rain and wind. The Cape Verde Islands are in the midst of tropical activity. Plus there may be a very wet system that is already developed and in the mid Atlantic.

RESULTS:

FORECAST Thursday, October 14 - 21, 2010 Quarter Moon

The Atlantic is stormy but high pressure at the east coast may just send the systems out to sea. Local Florida weather will be windy. Showers return later in the period.

RESULTS:

FORECAST Friday October 22 - 29, 2010 Full Moon

Full moons are often dry and we can view them in clear skies. The forecast is for cooler and blustery conditions mid-period with additional wind velocity. Unstable conditions later in the period. Any tropical systems could be slated for west of Miami, into the Gulf. With the Cape Verde season ending, there may be more convection this period.

RESULTS:

FORECAST Saturday October 30 - Nov 5, 2010 Quarter Moon Halloween Oct. 31

The weather conditions in Florida are mixed. There will be a strong moisture event from fog to flooding. Pleasant weather for later in the period.

RESULTS:

Thanks for reading the hurricane report for 2010.
