MAPPING THE PLANETS ACROSS THE USA
WINTER 2008
WINTER SEASON SOLARMAP
December 21, 2008 - March 21, 2009The solarmap provides a fantastic visual and it is one of the many tools or models used to forecast long range weather. The information for the map comes from the chart erected for the first moment of the winter season 2008.
The colored lines represent each of the planets streaming across the map of the USA and each line provides very important weather information as each planet represents a form of weather which could impact the area where it falls on the map. The astrometeorologist understands that the chart for the season is a birth chart, for whichever location is plotted or observed. Very simple ideas come from the visual of the solar map.
Solar Map Analysis
The planet lines represent the type of weather that influences as the season unfolds at the location. To begin, at the left of the map you will see the planet lines for Venus (green) and Neptune (aqua) off the west coast of the USA. Neptune is closer to the coast and it is a planet that has significant overtones in describing weather. In my weather course, I advocate that Neptune represents moisture in some form - anything from mists, to fog to flooding. Neptune exudes a certain kind of power in weather forecasting. When Neptune combines with another more fast moving planet, it is easier to forecast the weather. In my experience, Neptune on the west coast has been akin to air pollution due to smoke and hazy smoke filling the air. In my fall forecast, I accurately forecast that the Santa Ana season would be very strong. As of this writing, both San Francisco and Los Angeles are burning. Since it is winter time, the influence is likely to be more marine and rain.
Moving on to the next set of lines takes the eye from offshore California all the way into middle America. The demanding opposition of Uranus (orange) and Saturn (brown) will offer weather in Texas up through the Dakotas that the residents would like to send to another planet. Stormy and cold winter weather is expected. Strong highs and lows of temperature are also in the forecast.
At the first glance of the solarmap, your eye might have been drawn to the configuration of planets along the east coast of the USA. It is a dire view indeed. The initial look invites one to say that the weather will be brutal. It could very well be. To try to sort out what the combination of planets may bring is not easy -all 13 lunations must be examined to try to determine the very unusual combination of Mars with Pluto with Sun. Simply typing in those planet names together brings on images that are not consistent with winter weather in this part of the country. Mars (red) and Pluto (black) rise and converge over Washington DC. These planets represent intense heat and if it were summertime it would be very extreme. Because it is winter, Mars will perform its aggressive duties with the help of Pluto which is the intensity and the result will be warm fronts meeting up with the cold fronts in our part of the USA. Thunder, lightning, snow (thunder snow) rain and wildly fluctuating temperatures are all possible. Combine all of this with the Moon line (purple) running through the northeast. The Moon is wet, wet, wet! Perched so very high in the model, the stormy weather will make national headlines.
