MAPPING THE PLANETS ACROSS THE USA
WINTER 2004

WINTER SEASON SOLARMAP

The graphic is derived from the seasonal ingress chart and affords us the view of where the planets are plotted across the USA. Each planet line represents an intensification of weather at that location. Planets are associated with temperature, moisture and wind indication and certain combination of planets describe weather events at their locations. This is a useful tool in developing a report for the three month season.

Detailing the map, begin at the left and look for the orange line parallel the west coast. The planet is Uranus which is associated with the jet stream and high pressure. For the west coast, this can be an indicator of fair weather however, the Mars line (red) crosses Uranus in the middle of California. The two planets together can be indicative of a forced shakeup or in other words, an earthquake. Early in the season there could be traffic accidents due to fog forming due to the Uranus usually associated with cold fronts coming in and the Mars hot and dry coming up from the south. Usually Mars and Uranus will produce thunderstorms and lightning if the region is prone to them. Or, the air, swirling about is very electric and could be spontaneous combustion.

The next two planets are Venus (green) and Mercury (purple) streaming over the Rockies. The two planets acting in tandem will produce the precipitation and wind, dropping light powdery snow for a skier's delight.

Pluto (black) moving smack in the middle of the states denotes the intensity of weather for the season. Pluto equals extremes. These middle states may have a winter that is drier than average.

Look for the Jupiter and Sun lines crossing (both are blue) in the southeast. In combination, the Sun and Jupiter can produce wonderful sunny and warm weather. Let's all head south this winter! All is not perfect however as the wind indications for this area are strong during various weeks. See the national highlights section for more information.

The last planet line is the Moon (purple) along the east coast and more specifically through the northeast. The Moon represents the moisture for this area. It will be wet, snowy and icy in the northeast this winter.

These are the highlights of the mapping of the planets for the winter season. Carolyn Egan, Astrometeorologist © November, 2004
